Start at sunrise — the garage is the hottest room
An attached Chandler garage with no AC routinely passes 110° by mid-morning in summer. Begin at first light, prop the door for airflow, and keep water on hand; this is the one cleanout you don't push to the afternoon.
Pull everything to the driveway first
Empty the bays onto the driveway so you can actually see the slab and sort fast. Working in the shade of the open garage on the driveway beats squeezing between stacks in the oven.
Three piles: keep, haul, donate
Sort ruthlessly into keep, haul-away, and donate. Be honest — if it's been boxed since you moved in and survived a Chandler summer baking, you're not using it.
Sweep, then re-stack along the walls
Sweep out the dust and dead crickets, then re-stack keepers on shelves or against the walls so the center stays clear and the car comes in out of the sun. The whole point is parking inside again.
If a triple-digit garage isn't a project you want to spend a Saturday on, a garage cleanout (from $80) gets the hauling, sweeping, and re-stacking done — we bring the sweat equity, you get the bay back.
